Perth Dermatology is improving access for patients in need of urgent lesion diagnosis and/or surgery.
Referrals for this service will be assessed with priority for the following indications:
- Suspected melanoma requiring urgent evaluation.
- New referrals for biopsy proven or high clinical suspicion skin cancers with advanced surgical reconstruction requirements (eg head and neck; lower limb or other).
- Wide local excision and reconstruction of lentigo maligna with pre-surgical mapping confocal microscopy (please also see our confocal microscopy services)
- Wide local excision of melanoma in situ or melanoma < 0.8mm Breslow Thickness (please also see our high risk melanoma services )
- Existing patients with new lesions of concern developing.
Attaching pathology results and photographs to referrals will assist in fast tracking/triaging of these appointments.
