Dr Tony Caccetta is a Specialist Dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
He graduated with honours from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2005. After successful selection in the highly competitive Australasian College of Dermatologists (ACD) national dermatology training program, he completed his specialist training and examinations to be awarded Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD) in 2012.
Dr Caccetta is a procedural dermatologist working in private practice since 2013.
He is highly skilled in the diagnosis of melanoma and skin cancer and specialises in surgical and non-surgical treatment of cancer. He is experienced in the surgical removal and reconstruction of skin cancer, performing over 500 cases per year. Dr Caccetta is the Medical Director of Perth Dermatology Clinic and Day Hospital. He is also a Clinical Consultant Dermatologist at the Western Australia Kirkbride Melanoma Advisory Service (WAKMAS).
Dr Caccetta is highly experienced in the management of excessive sweating with sweat stopping injections and iontophoresis. He has performed over 1000 treatments with botulinum toxin injection for underarm sweating and offers iontophoresis therapy for excessive sweating of the hands and feet. He also manages excessive scalp and facial sweating with sweat stopping injections.
Dr Caccetta provides on-site phototherapy services for the treatment of eczema, psoriasis and vitiligo. He is also a provider of life changing biologic therapy for severe psoriasis and oral isotretinoin for the management of difficult to control or maintain acne. Dr Caccetta has trained in all aspects of general adult and paediatric dermatology.
Dr Caccetta provides a rural dermatology service to the Wheatbelt as a visiting specialist to Merredin, Northam and Narrogin Hospitals. He is active in pursuing innovation and utilising technology to improve future access for his rural patients via telehealth and artificial intelligence.
He has previously worked in the public sector as a Consultant Dermatologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital 2013-2018 and also delivered the inaugural Australian College of Dermatologists (ACD) Practical Dermoscopy course in Western Australia in 2017. Dr Caccetta is past Chairman of the WA Faculty of Dermatology and serves on various boards and committees in the healthcare sector.
